Big news for the community.
I just discovered that Gumroad — where all my products live — has a feature called Purchasing Power Parity, and I've enabled it across everything. Here's what that means: if you're buying from a country where the cost of living is lower, you automatically get a discount. No code needed. No form to fill. It applies on its own the moment you open a product page. The discount can go up to 50% depending on where you're buying from. I noticed more and more people from different countries joining the community, and it made me think — $60 might be nothing for someone buying in euros with a Western European salary, and it might be a real barrier for someone in a completely different economic reality. That's not a reason to keep people out of the method. So I turned it on. If you want to see exactly what discount you're getting based on your location, head to elevatepublishers.com, open any product, and you'll see it applied automatically. That's it. Just wanted to make sure everyone here knew. Dave

An evolution I'm thinking about (and I want your honest take)
I've got something I wanna run past you, and I genuinely want your honest answer. When I started this channel it was all about self-publishing, and that's still a huge part of what I do. But the truth is I've never been only a self-publisher. I've built other businesses over the years, online and offline, because relying on one single way to make money has always felt risky to me. A lot of what I teach about KDP actually comes from general online business principles, things like how to sell digital products. So I'm considering an evolution. Turning the channel into more of a personal brand under my name, where I'm free to talk about everything I know, how to make money online with different methods, how to sell digital products, how YouTube works as a business, all of it, with KDP still right in the mix. Here's the part I think actually matters for you. When you understand all these business models, you stop seeing them as separate things and you start mixing them, using the advantages of each one together, and that's where the real money is. That's exactly what I do. Self-publishing is one of my main businesses, but it's not the only one, and the best thing I can show you is everything I do, not just the KDP slice of it. You'd get to see how the whole thing fits together. And honestly, I might show you more than just the business side. More of how I actually live, the day to day, because I think some of you would appreciate seeing that my life is pretty normal. I just have a different job than most people. It's a different way of living, but I'm a regular guy, and that's kind of the point, because if I can do this, you can too. Before I commit to anything though, I wanna hear from you ❤️

TIKTOK update
Ok, so it has now been just over 4 weeks of a constant 3 reels a day and this is the progress so far... 1. Sales have increased slightly but I reduced my ad drastically from previous months and just ran lottery ads. For the 1st time I was in profit, not by much but at least a profit. 2. My views are still at the 500 - 800 mark but starting to get more likes and engagement. 3. I started with my "The Happy Rickshaw Driver" book and then 2 weeks in I started to running another account with my "If I Only Knew Then What I Know Now about DEMENTIA" book. Both have started to get a few more sales. 4. I have found the process of creating videos a lot easier. I was using an external editing suite to add voiceovers, captions, music etc but have figured that I can do all that on TikTok and a lot quicker. 5. Do I feel frustrated? Yes. Do I trust in the process? Yes. So I will continue as Davide has mentioned that the algorithm takes a month, 2 months, maybe more, but it does kick in. My income is very nominal. In Apr my royalties were £126.38 (ad spend £233.26). In May £193.23 (£311.71). In June £255.64 (£239.57). For June, the majority of ad spend was in 1st week, before I reduced my budgets drastically. I had more sales the last 3 weeks using this method. For July I am stopping all ads and see what happens. A few sales already so fingers crossed. Hope this helps.

Interesting BookTok Success Story
I came across an interesting example recently that I thought some people here might find useful. There's a guy in Spain who started posting short TikTok videos about self-help books. At first, his goal was pretty simple: recommend books and earn a little money through Amazon affiliate commissions. As most of you know, affiliate commissions on books are tiny, so it wasn't exactly a path to getting rich. But his account grew really fast. Eventually he built an audience of millions of followers across all his social media platforms, who saw him as "the guy who knows self-help books." Then he did something smart. Instead of only recommending other people's books, he started publishing his own self-help books on Amazon. From what I can tell, many of them were likely created with heavy AI assistance, and he publishes them under a different pen name. What's interesting is that he doesn't present them as "my books." He recommends them alongside the books he has always recommended. So in practice, he's using the authority he built as a book reviewer to sell his own products. Another thing I noticed is his positioning. He often recommends books written by well-known authors, psychologists, researchers, and major publishers. Then he'll recommend one of his own books as the simpler, easier-to-read version for beginners or for people who don't usually read much. And judging by the number of reviews and sales, it seems to be working extremely well. Here's the account: https://www.youtube.com/@KaizenReyLibros/shorts Has anyone else seen interesting examples of authors using TikTok, Reels, or Shorts in unusual ways to sell books?
