looking for advice
Im 19 year old aspiring electrician based in south london, i have completed my 18th edition, part p, 2391-50 51, pat testing. I am enrolled onto lvl 3 NVQ with access training. I am looking for advice on how to get electrician mate jobs to build portfolio for my NVQ. I have my own car, electrical tools, clean full licence and ECS Labourer Card.
FYI: I had looked for apprenticeships and colleges before but had no luck hence i went down private training route with access training and funded my own qualifications. Access training give me 10 day practical install training and 3 day practical install exam for the NVQ before portfolio stage, which is the same as lvl 3 2365 courses but I understand this is limited compared to real on-site work. Hence im going down the private NVQ route to build practical experience as a mate/improver, with the end goal of achieving my ECS Gold Card.
Any advice on how to find electricians/companies who are willing to take me on and help me with my NVQ would be greatly appreciated.
