What are drugs?

It's important to recognize that any drug can be abused, so both medications and illegal substances fall under the category of drugs, regardless of how they are used. A drug is defined as anything that alters a biological process, including seemingly harmless aspirin, caffeinated beverages, and even tobacco products.
