What Do You Want? (Serious Question)
When I first envisioned this Academy and Skool, I thought: "Wow! Art students will love this community thing!" Well, after 6 weeks and many interviews, DMs and comments I've come to the painful realization that I was wrong.
What I believe online art students want is mostly these 2 things:
  1. Self paced knowledge: info, courses, classes, videos, tutorials
  2. Access: advice, crits from their favorite artist they admire and trust.
Am I wrong?
I ask this because this Academy as it was founded is not sustainable economically. It has to change or be shut down. I have literally burned 100s of hours of labor and 100s of dollars of my own money only to get 0% conversion on the About page! I even offered people for FREE and they still reject me. We have free members now that don't even use the Academy. Wow.
This hurts but this is my reality.
💡So my conclusions are:
  1. What I'm offering here is not very valuable, even to people who know me.
  2. My core offer sucks and therefore the About page will always suck.
  3. My reach and visibility sucks because I am in some kind of SM jail (my vids and posts are not pushed anymore according to metric data).
  4. Skool the platform is so new to 'online art students' that it is a huge barrier to cross.
So, now is your chance to tell me what you want. I have some ideas which are in the poll below. But who cares what I think. I want to know what you want and care about.
Thanks for reading and thank you for your feedback. Please be honest and "real". You will not hurt my feelings at all. I appreciate honest and straight talk. The more honest feedback I get, the more I can help you. 🙏
I want more self-paced knowledge: courses, classes, video tutorials etc
I want access for skill and craft training, crits, feedback
I want access for business of art, social media training
I want to study with you in person in Thailand
I want something else (please comment below)...
