Summit registration is now open!
@Joann Fegley and I are so excited to bring you this mini-summit on June 28. Here's the schedule (all times given are Eastern/New York time, and all sessions are 50 minutes long): 10:30am - Welcome + Kickoff We'll go over the day's events, the bonuses we're offering live attendees, and do a little DB networking. 11am - Steering: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You Why take a certification course when you can go to a weekend clinic or your coach can teach you? Because it doesn't adequately prepare you for having 22 lives in your hands, that's why. Plus new regulations are coming down the pike, so you need to be ready. 12 noon - Level Up: From Club Paddler to National Team What does it take to make an elite team? In this session you'll learn about off-water training, camps + clinics to get on your radar, how to filter the good info from the bad, how to be adaptable, and how to get ready for team tryouts. 1pm - Mobility for Dragon Boat Athletes The incredible @Anne Baker will get our bodies moving and lead us through some mobility work and give us tips on how to incorporate this into our training regimens for continued success. [Learn about Anne and her work here.] 2pm - Coaching Basics for New Coaches Many clubs start because someone got bitten by the bug at a charity festival, but then struggle with how and what to teach. Others are growing rapidly and need to get coaches trained up fast. In this session we'll get you started on the right foot and give you a plan for action. 3pm - The Recruiting Playbook Getting new folks to join can be harrrrd. But the Schuylkill Dragons in Philly created a killer mechanism and Joann, longtime club head coach, will share the playbook. 4pm - The Art of Video Review Video review is one of the fastest ways to help paddlers improve their technique. As a coach, what you can see from the side is enlightening, and unlike anything you can see from the back (if you coach from the steering platform) or the front (if you coach from the drum seat). In this session we'll break down everything from how to capture video to how to structure a review session.

🚨Community Update
As we talk to more and more of you, something has become abundantly clear: there is no single hub for dragon boat athletes to connect, share, learn, and level up. So, what started as a learning space for steers is now evolving into a community where you can: - network with others in the sport - learn how to step into coaching - learn how to coach from the steering platform - understand all the boat roles (even the ones OFF the boat) - improve your own paddling skills - learn how to write practice plans - get support growing your own club And so much more. Three things we're rolling out over the next few months: - Dragon Boat Virtual Mini-Summit - June 28. 8 LIVE sessions. Networking opportunities. Bonuses/giveaways. Post-summit replay access. All just $20. - Coaching 101 - A self-paced course for folks stepping into coaching, this will cover everything from spotting technique mistakes and giving feedback to running a video review session and busting imposter syndrome. Price TBD (but there will be a beta discount for the founding round). - Affiliate commissions - get credit when someone uses your affiliate link to sign up for a paid program. We've already made this live on the Level 1 Steering Course - which means that you can earn $25 for every person who joins this community with your referral link and enrolls in the course. HOW TO FIND YOUR REFERRAL LINK πŸ‘‡ On desktop: - look for the button on the right hand side of your screen that says β€œSETTINGS.” - Click that to find and copy your personal referral link. On mobile: - click the three dots at the top right of your screen and then click β€œinvite.” So snag your link, get your friends and teamies to join you in here, and let's make this an amazing community for all of us who love this sport and want to see it grow! Any questions? Drop them in the comments.

Any teams on here host their own festival? Looking to create a list of races for next season. Thanks!
Skool made our community an ad!
Skool CEO Sam Ovens has been running a shit ton of facebook ads not just to the platform, but to the individual communitesβ€”how cool is that? And today I saw OUR community in one. Was a lovely little surprise to end the day with!
