My Progress, Wins, and Mindset I learned in my Web Development Journey
I am so excited going forward in my web development journey. I have finished the JavaScript projects, understood the JavaScript code to the projects, and I have finished JavaScript. I am going to take a short break, and then get back into web development and try to get freelance clients. I am so excited going forward. I am a little nervous, but excited.
I also want to share two mindset that have helped me in my web development journey:
These are mindsets I learned from my own experience and what I learned from Hayk.
  1. Understand the code and concepts, and not try to remember code or remember things=> Understand VS. Remembering
With Mindset 1, I learned this from Hayk because at first and even now I have a hard time thinking I have to remember every line of code or everything that I learn, but Hayk taught me that I don't need to remember, but I just need to understand the concepts in the course, and the code in the projects that I am coding. Hayk always remind me of this, and I think sometimes, I hope I am not worrying Hayk, but Hayk always remind me of this that you don't have to remember but as long as you understand what you learning, the concepts, and the code in the projects you are coding you are good and progressing. I have to constantly remind myself of mindset 1 too.
2.Coding and web development is something you do not something you did.
=> This lesson, mindset 2, It hit me a few days ago because I was stressing over remembering everything and code, but this mindset shift came to me. This mindset is where you code everyday or week and be consistent , and not worry about memorizing, but over time I feel like I would remember more if I code everyday or week. So I told myself when I move on from JavaScript or any programming language to still practice JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or any other programming language I moved on from. This mindset shift is like making coding a part of my lifestyle and practicing it consistently.
Mindset 2 really empowered me and also took away the stress of trying to remember everything in my web development journey.
Mindset 1 and 2 is empowering and has empowered me in my web development journey.
I am applying mindset 1 by making sure I understand the concepts in the course, the code in projects, and understand what I learn, and remind myself of what Hayk told me which was, "You don't have to remember everything or remember code as long as you understand the code, and what you are learning".
Some ways I am going to apply mindset 2 going forward is to comment out code and practice the same code from projects, but comment it out and delete the commented code when done practicing, practicing and coding similar and different projects, practicing debugging strategies, practicing coding exercise from the course, practice Youtube tutorial exercises and projects.
I have practiced exercises from the JavaScript course, and some of these other I have done but going to keep doing.
If I said something wrong, then let me know, Hayk, but I just wanted to share my progress, journey, and also the 2 mindset because I thought it could also help someone because it has and still is helping me in my web development journey.
