I’ve been coaching for 15 years, from beginners to academy; 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11.
And all that time, I’ve built teams around ONE simple idea:
Instead of "keep the ball" and pass side to side, we simply attack the goal. And if we can't, we go back.
The better we attack together, the more chances we create, and the more we control the ball as a result. That's Vertical Possession (examples above).
This makes football less about who is stronger and more about playing smarter.
