What to copy and paste

Whassup Bro, so now I opened two VScode, but I'm still not sure which code I should copy and paste to the new VScode. If I create all the same files in the new VScode as the ones in the old VScode window and copy and paste the exact same code, when I run a commit and push the code to Git, it's going to be the exact same as the old code, no? Could you please explain the purpose behind doing so. Thanks
