Question About Component Directory and Naming

I was watching one of Cristian's React videos and in it he creates a Counter folder with an index.js file.

Some other videos I've watched people would just make Counter.jsx inside of the components folder directly.

What is the difference in the use case of each of these methods and the pros and cons if any or is it just preference?
