On mornings where I’m dragging, I don’t wait to feel ready.
I remind myself that if something matters, it won’t do itself.
I don’t analyse the list i wrote the night before or sit in my head about everything that needs to be done. I simply get up and do one thing.
One email response, one follow up, or simply make the bed and have a shower first.
It doesn’t need to be the biggest task or the most impressive one. They all need to be done at some stage, yes its important to prioritize, but on days you are dragging, just pick one, start with one. Because nothing changes while you’re thinking about it.
Sometimes it’s not positive affirmations or encouragement that help. Sometimes it’s a quiet reality check. Action is what creates clarity. Tell yourself to just move.
Once that first thing is done and you tick it off, something shifts.
And then I tell myself,
You can do one more.
I don’t look at the whole list.
I don’t focus on what I’ve already done.
I stand up again and tick off the next small thing.
That’s how momentum starts.
The learning here is simple.
Procrastination isn’t solved by motivation.
It’s solved by movement.
One becomes two.
Two becomes flow.
So if today feels heavy, don’t try to fix everything.
Just start.
Then remind yourself, you can do one more.
That’s how progress actually happens.
