Some of the hardest goodbyes are not loud. They are quiet distances.
It’s when you used to know every detail of someone’s day. What stressed them. What made them smile. What kept them up at night. And now… you don’t.
You don’t know how they’re really doing. You don’t know if they’re healing or barely holding it together.
But love does not always disappear just because communication does.
Sometimes caring turns silent. It becomes prayers you don’t say out loud. Support you can’t show directly. Wishing them well from a distance you never wanted.
And even if you’re no longer part of their life the way you used to be, a part of you still hopes they are okay.
Not every love story continues.
Some simply transform into quiet care.
