"My potential is unlimited".
This phrase can easily become an excuse or a justification. For example, someone with no career, an untrained body, and poor relationships might do nothing to improve their situation. Instead, they tell themselves: “My potential is unlimited. Deep down, I’m very talented and super cool. I was just unlucky - with my parents, with my country, with my body, with the president, with my partner. If it weren’t for them, I would have achieved my full potential”.
I think the idea of unlimited potential actually places a huge responsibility on an individual. It means I can never stop or settle for my current achievements. I have to keep developing myself, strengthening my skills, and expanding my knowledge. No matter how high I rise, I acknowledge that I’m not done. I can always grow one step further.
The idea of unlimited potential is both inspiring and demanding. It means it’s never too late to start improving. But it's also never so high that I can stop climbing or reaching for new heights.
