Below is a short summary of each chapter:
- Matthew 7: In the conclusion of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus warns against hypocritical judging, encourages persistent prayer (ask, seek, knock), teaches the Golden Rule, urges entering the narrow gate, cautions about false prophets known by their fruits, and illustrates obedience through the parable of the wise and foolish builders.
- Deuteronomy 23: This chapter outlines laws excluding certain groups (eunuchs, those of illegitimate birth, Ammonites, Moabites) from the assembly of the Lord, maintaining camp purity, protecting escaped slaves, prohibiting cult prostitution and charging interest to fellow Israelites, honoring vows, and allowing limited eating from neighbors' vineyards or fields without harvesting.
- Galatians 6: Paul instructs to gently restore those caught in sin, bear one another's burdens to fulfill Christ's law, sow to the Spirit for eternal life rather than the flesh, and not grow weary in doing good. He stresses that circumcision is irrelevant compared to becoming a new creation and boasts only in the cross of Christ.
- 1 John 3: John declares believers are God's children who should purify themselves and not persist in sin, as sin is lawlessness and of the devil. He urges loving one another in action and truth, not like Cain, assuring that such love gives confidence before God and leads to answered prayers for those keeping His commands.
- Ecclesiastes 11: Solomon advises generosity (cast your bread upon the waters) and diligence despite life's uncertainties, as one cannot predict outcomes. Diversify efforts, enjoy youth and life, but remember God will judge all deeds, and youth is ultimately vanity.
- Psalm 63: In the wilderness, David thirsts for God like in a dry land, praising His lovingkindness better than life. He finds satisfaction in God's presence, meditates on Him at night under His protective wings, and rejoices in anticipated victory over enemies who will be silenced.
- Proverbs 22: A good name surpasses riches; rich and poor are equals before God. Train children rightly; the borrower serves the lender. Avoid the angry; don't oppress the poor or move ancient boundaries. The chapter introduces thirty wise sayings, beginning with warnings against robbing the poor and befriending the hot-tempered.
- 1 Kings 10: The Queen of Sheba visits Solomon, tests his wisdom with riddles, and is astonished by his insight and prosperity. She blesses God and exchanges gifts. The chapter details Solomon's immense wealth, including annual gold intake, his ivory throne, golden vessels, and trade in chariots and horses.
- Jeremiah 47: God pronounces judgment on the Philistines through invading "waters" from the north (Babylon), causing destruction in Gaza, Ashkelon, and other cities. The people will wail in anguish; even Tyre and Sidon will be affected. The Lord's sword will not rest until its task is complete.
- Acts 27: Paul, as a prisoner, sails toward Rome with companions but faces a severe storm after leaving Crete. An angel assures him all 276 aboard will survive. Paul encourages the crew; the ship wrecks near Malta, but everyone reaches shore safely as promised.
