Sunday Highlights?
What was the highlight from your time together as a church this weekend?
I’ll go first…
One thing I love about the church we are a part of is that everything is “by invitation.”
As someone who was a part of church leadership for close to twenty years, the continual push and pull of wanting, expecting, or even demanding people to engage gets exhausting.
I love the perspective of invitation.
“You’re invited to stand with us..”
“you’re invited to worship with us…”
“you’re invited to pray with us…”
etc. etc.
An invitation takes the pressure off of everyone and give spaces for genuine response to what God may be doing. Rather than individual doing what they think is expected from them or simply going through the motions.
I love the idea of less telling people what to do and more inviting them to consider what God may be doing within and around them.
