Salt water cure

Dear community, hello!✨

I have a quick question regarding my salt water cure. I set it up about 2–3 weeks ago, and after the first two weeks, I noticed that the water has evaporated significantly, especially in some particulat rooms, and the salt is beginning to form on the rim of the jar. I know this means the cure is working, but I heard somewhere that you are supposed to refill the water over time. Is that true?

My intention is to leave the cure to sit for at least a year, or perhaps refresh it in February for the Chinese New Year. Any thoughts?
