What You’ll Need
- A Canva Pro account (Bulk Create is a Pro feature)
- A template design in Canva (e.g., Instagram post, flyer, etc.)
- A CSV file or a table of content (headlines, names, images, etc.)
📌
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Create or Open Your Template
- Go to Canva and open an existing design or create a new one.
- This design will act as the “base” that each variation will use (e.g., a quote layout, product spotlight, testimonial, etc.)
Step 2: Set Up Text or Image Placeholders
- On your design, highlight the text/image you want to change in each version.
- Right-click the element (or tap the 3 dots on mobile) and select “Connect data” → “Use in bulk create”.
Step 3: Prepare Your Content Data
Option A: Use a spreadsheet (CSV)
- Create a CSV file with columns like Quote, Author, Image Link, etc.
- Each row = one version of your content
Option B: Enter data manually
- In the Bulk Create panel, click “Enter data manually” and type or paste in your values.
Step 4: Upload the Data
- Go back to Canva.
- Click Apps (from left panel) → Search for Bulk Create.
- Upload your CSV or paste your data directly.
Step 5: Connect Data to Your Design
- Click a text box or image → Right-click → Connect Data
- Match the right column from your data to the selected placeholder.
Step 6: Generate Your Designs
- Once all placeholders are connected, click Continue in the Bulk Create panel.
- Choose to create New Pages for each row of data.
- Canva will automatically generate multiple versions of your design with different content.
Tips for Success
- Images: If you’re using image URLs, they must be direct links (end in .jpg or .png).
- Consistency: Make sure your placeholders are clearly labeled and consistently used.
- Preview first: Check a few versions before exporting to make sure everything looks right.
- Open your chosen design in Canva.
- Go to Apps > Bulk Create.
- Upload your CSV with columns like Quote and Author, or enter data manually.
- Connect the fields and generate your posts!
