Power in Practice Activity - Orange and Brown.
Conducted a spell for balancing the energies of grounding and vitality last night. I had set everything up a few days ago but felt hesitant and wanted to get everything "just right" since my last spell backfired. (we cast and we learn, I might share that experience to help fellow baby witches not to make the same mistake but kind of embarrassed).
I set out an orange candle and brown candle. I cleansed the space with palo santo in a counter clockwise fashion in my room. I found that I tend to be an all or nothing in terms of resting or creating and wanted to balance those energies in my life. I journaled as the spell went on and realized that many of the things in my life that make me feel grounded also energize me! (Such as walking in nature, dancing, coloring, etc).
I struggle to know what to say during the spell so I just ranted what I wanted to gain and gave gratitude similar to a prayer.
The orange candle burned taller, faster, more intensely, with some black plumage compared to the brown candle which burned steady, tall, and stablely. I do remember when I called on my guides though that the brown candle burned very tall and crackled for a bit and then settled again. I
I used salt, my herb blend, sagebrush, rosemary from my garden, and set an offering of moon water for my guides during the spell in a small dish.
I felt a range of emotions (sad, calm, tired, inspired) during the spell and felt inclinded to beat my pillows and put my blankets in the drier.
Today I felt a sense of clarity and a release of anxiety. My focus and ability to discern what needs to be done is very strong today (which is cool because I often struggle from this since I have adhd).
