Why isn’t the “conception “ of a piece of art held in higher regard than its canvas modified copy? True, many works are created and evolve on canvas but that paper is the rare original, so… bla bla bla… mine won’t be priced a dime a dozen in Buy It Now.

The monied few have priceless original sketches of Davince. The obscure and boring Mona painting only came to light because it was stolen in 1913 and marketing promoters made a big deal out of it.

We have it backwards. The filler is more than paper and should be respected/priced accordingly.
