don’t be that person yes, we’re all guilty of doing it getting hyper focused and stuck on solving a future problem psychologists call it prospection bias, or futurism bias it’s when we become preoccupied with the future or overemphasise it that we lose touch with present reality i am all for being ready for what potential problems may exist in the future … … but the key word there is may exist don’t lose time worry and solving something that isn’t actually happening right now cross that bridge if it comes your way instead of trying to solve the “how can i monetise this” or “how can i convert it the paid in the future” go get 100, 300, 1000+ members you need people to actually monetise and it’s highly likely that by being around those people you’ll learn what they actually want and value, and can then monetise you’ll build something with them instead of building some for them and hoping they want it and in regards to “how can i monetise it” or even “can i monetise it” the answer is right there in front of you people are monetising ideas and communities like yours so you can too chris williamson says to “keep the main thing the main thing” … … in this context it’s “keep the actual problem the actual problem you solve” there’s a super simple solution for identifying problems and finding their solution fast 5 steps you can do in less than 5 minutes by asking very simple questions __ 1. is this a maths or a drama problem? if at any point you begin to think, assume, or believe and start justifying or telling a story - it’s a drama problem if you have a drama problem you need to solve it ASAP so you can turn it into a simple maths problem drama = subjective maths = objective we try to subjectively think through so much, when oftentimes all we’re thinking through is our own reasonings to get to the objective maths we can analyse and act on objective is much easier to solve to be objective, you just look at the data (it never lies, your mind will)
