Turn off commenting on postings

Even if I write in a welcome post that an introduction post is to be made as a new post, it happens again and again that group members introduce themselves as a comment under my post.

Would it make sense to be able to turn off the comment function in postings?

Or does anyone have another idea/suggestion on how to better guide the members so that they write their idea as an independent posting?
