Multiple Courses

I'm a bit unclear on the multiple courses aspect. Do my students see all published courses and do they have access to all of them if they are in the community. Is there a way for me to control who can see which courses (something I can turn on/off for each student) depending if they have paid for it? Or do they click on a course and it denies access if they haven't been approved (paid)?

Or do they only see the one they have been approved for?

I'm just not sure what my students see or can't see. I'm not sure of the experience they are observing.
