Features for Improving Engagement on Skool

Hi Skool team, this has been a real head scratcher for us. Uptil two months ago, we had a super engaged community on Slack. We moved everyone to Skool and our engagement has dropped to abysmal. We have been thinking what is it all about. We have some ideas and recommendations for features for you to consider that we believe will improve the engagement rate on Skool.

Social: The Skool is not just a learning place but a social place. The same dynamics, rules and features that make social engagement platforms successful also apply to Skool.
Thumbnails: The feed ought to have larger thumbnails like facebook or Slack where the post is covered with video thumbnail first and then text at the bottom. Currently it is too text heavy.
Being able to respond to post with more emoticons than just Like button may be a necessary evil. I know that people can reply with emoticon, but that doesn't do the trick. Responding with emoticons is what's in fashion.
Simple things such as being able to bold and italicize text helps with reading.
People continue to miss getting into little groups and being able to chat with each other. They report feeling uneasy speaking up in a large community (may be especially with our self-development focus)
People commenting on lessons, should bring up big thumbnail of the lesson in the feed so others can play it. Our whole community is based on Video lessons but these seem buried in the classroom boxes. Lesson Videos should be easy to play directly from the feed.
Picture posts should have larger thumbnails.
People report having to go to skool website vs they were just on Slack all the time. Not sure what you can do about it.

I wonder what other ideas others have for increasing engagement in our community.

UPDATE:

I have been talking to more of our participants, and they say that lack of notifications (which means a lack of an APP on the computers and mobiles) which is in the way of engagement.
