Hello to our friends new and old! This video + PDF guidebook give insights for how people are successfully growing their Skool communities as complete beginners with no following, and how you can research what your winning peers are doing to learn from them. //
Let's start with a bit of context.
Your results will absolutely vary, but this strategy is as old as they come. You should also know what your peers are doing to get members by reviewing the Skool Games tab and digging a bit - how are THEY growing their Skool communities? - You need a good offer that will interest strangers
- You need to find the right strangers so you're not just a random spammer
- You need to get that offer seen by them in a way that won't harass them
So then what's the best way to do grow from scratch? DMing people! My playbook is very simple.
1) I search out subreddits and Facebook groups where my ideal audience is already hanging out
2) I do my best to give value to them or be otherwise recognized
3) I reach out directly with a real account I actually use and offer for them to join my community and why I think they'd enjoy it
4) I do that 80-100 times a day per platform. Make sure you don't do more than that on Reddit at least because they will be unhappy and you'll get banned.
Pro tip - do not do this on Skoolers because Skool is not social media. People here want to know you care, and if relevant they will join your community. You CAN connect with people here, but keep it to under 10 people a week so the moderation algorithm knows you're not a spammer.

Your next question is ok - what then do I say? That's going to vary from community to community, but you should just tell them WHY you're reaching out, and what outcome will they get from joining your group!
Very few people care about community at face value - what they really care about is UTILITY.
How will your group enhance their life, make them feel better, connect them with interesting people?
If you don't have good answers to these questions, that's your starting point. Otherwise, do the work and reach out to the RIGHT people. If you're on any social media, and someone interacts with you, that's a lead! And if people are commenting on relevant content to your niche, those are leads too!

There is also a neat use case to track which DMs and marketing methods are working by using my own referral link, and referral links from my members.
Because I can see 'invited by' in the members tab, this gives me immediate feedback on what's driving the results I care about - awesome new people joining my communities!
