Infinite Ideas
Sometimes you just don’t know what to make. I find myself making the same thing over and over again and it just gets a bit stale. I’ve got two resources for you to help you come up with some ideas. One is pretty darn old and one is brand new. The first is Val Cushing’s exhaustive list of things to make: it is an absurdly long list of ideas and honestly… some are great and some are just ridiculous. But I love the crazy ones like “chair” or “bathtub” the other resource is a brand new website called potteryspin.com. The creator yj.pottery (Instagram) messaged me and told me to check it out and it’s honestly really cool. She didn’t pay me or anything to say that, it’s just genuinely neat. It randomizes different things for you to try out on the potters wheel and you can adjust the difficulty or respin things you don’t like. It’s worth checking out if you’re just kind of stuck at the wheel.
