I was posting in 30 to 50 communities and a few members told me to stop
I thought more communities meant more reach. What it actually meant was the same people seeing me over and over.
Plenty of members belong to a dozen communities. So if you're posting in 40, the overlap isn't small.
Those members were getting notified about me several times a day, sometimes the same title sitting in two different feeds. A few of them said something. Politely, but they said it.
I'd been counting communities. I should have been counting people.
Three things changed after that.
I cut the number right down. I post mainly in my own now, plus a couple of others where the audience is actually different.
I use Panda to schedule posts across different parts of the day, so anything that does overlap lands hours apart instead of together.
And I don't reuse a title across communities. Same idea is fine. Same title just looks like broadcasting.
Worth remembering that reach isn't the member count. It's whoever hasn't already seen you somewhere else that morning.
