Day 2 of our Vendor Craft Show Training was all about one thing: 💰 SELLING. You can make beautiful products. You can choose the right craft show. You can have people stopping to look at what you've made. But then comes the part that makes many makers uncomfortable... You actually have to SELL. 😁 And that's exactly what we spent Day 2 learning. 👇 If you joined us live yesterday, I'd really love for you to share your thoughts in the comments! What was your biggest takeaway from the S.E.L.L.S. training? Was there something that changed the way you think about selling? 🧶 What We Covered Rather than teaching a bunch of random sales tips, I introduced my S.E.L.L framework — a process you can use to guide a customer naturally from that first interaction toward making a buying decision. We talked about: 💬 How to start conversations naturally without immediately putting shoppers on the defensive. 👀 How to recognize the difference between someone casually browsing and someone showing signs of genuine interest. ➡️ How to move beyond the automatic “I'm just looking” response and keep the conversation going without becoming pushy. ❓ How to ask questions and listen so you can begin discovering what the customer actually wants or needs. 🧶 How to get customers engaging with your products rather than simply looking at them. ❤️ How to help someone begin imagining themselves—or someone they're shopping for—actually using, wearing or enjoying the product. 📖 The importance of storytelling in selling, including the stories behind your products, your own experiences and stories from other customers. 🤝 How to build connection and trust rather than making the customer feel like they're being given a sales pitch. 💰 And how to become more comfortable actually asking for the sale and helping the customer make a decision. The big message throughout the day was this: Selling isn't something you do TO someone. When it's done well, you're having a conversation, discovering what matters to that person and helping them decide whether something you've created is right for them.
