🧶 Beginner I-Cord Lessons Are Here (Starting with French Knitting!) 🧶
I want to start by saying thank you — I heard you loud and clear. Many of you shared that you didn’t want a separate community just for I-Cord, and I completely agree. This community is about learning together, and that’s exactly how we’ll move forward. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be adding beginner-friendly I-Cord lessons using: • Knitting Crochet • French Knitting • The Addi Egg • The Caydo Pro 🟡 All of these beginner lessons will be FREE for everyone in the community. This way, no matter how you prefer to learn, you’ll have clear, step-by-step guidance to build confidence. 🧵 About the I-Cord Patterns (Coming in January) While the lessons will be free, the I-Cord patterns launching in January will be available to Premium and VIP members only. Yarn substitution doesn’t have to feel like guesswork 🧠🧶
One of the most common struggles I see — especially with newer knitting machine users — is substituting yarn when you don’t have the exact one a pattern calls for and it doesn’t work. It’s not because you’re doing something wrong ❌It’s because most people were never taught what truly matters when choosing a substitute. I just shared a new YouTube video where I talk through: • why weight alone isn’t enough ⚖️ • why fiber content matters more than brand 🧵 • how yarn labels and gauge can guide you 👀 • and why testing with one ball can save money and frustration 💸 This is a big-picture conversation to help things finally click 💡 If you’ve ever had a project stretch, run out of yarn, or just not feel right, this one’s for you. 👉 Watch the video, then come back and tell us: What yarn substitution has given you the most trouble so far? You’re not alone here — that’s what this community is for 💛
I got my sequin yarn
and to say I’m disappointed with it is the understatement of the year. I couldn’t get the original yarn I was after from The Range as they had sold out so they cancelled my order. So I went looking for an alternative and I saw some that looked good on Temu, 100grams.. lovely jubbly! So ordered three and they arrived today. I’m Not impressed at all, it looks really pretty but it’s very thin. I doubt it will go through the machine on its own. It looks like it’s 2 or 3 ply! 😳😳 if I’m going to use it for my wrap, I’m going to have to mix it with a DK yarn. I’ll try it to see how it goes. Watch this space!
