How To Replace Halloween With A Holy Tradition You And Your Spouse Will Love
Hey friend 🩵
If you’ve ever wrestled with how to handle Halloween as a Christian couple (or family)… this one’s for you.
You don’t have to choose between compromise and isolation. You can make the night holy instead of hollow. In this week’s bonus episode, I share exactly what our family is doing instead of celebrating Halloween — and how you can create your own Christ-centered tradition too.
Here’s a simple framework to help you plan your own Holy Spirit–led night together:
1. Decide what your biblical theme for the night will be. Maybe you focus on The Fruits of the Spirit, the Armor of God, or a story like Daniel in the Lion’s Den. Let Scripture set the tone.
2. Decide how you’ll stimulate the 5 senses.
Ask: What will we smell, taste, feel, hear, and see around us? This can be as simple or as fancy as you want — maybe cinnamon candles, cozy blankets, warm apple cider, worship music, and soft light.
3. Choose your activities. Pick 1–3 simple things that tie into your theme — like crafts, baking, prayer time, or reading a Bible story together.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s connection — with God, your spouse, and your family.
Then come back here and tell us what theme you’re choosing for your home this year! 🍂
