Very few of you would know that I used to own a business with this very name. What's for supper?
It was one of the OG meal preparation businesses, long before they were trendy and super popular. Definitely ahead of their time, light years ahead of any success in my area. People would order their meals online, and they could either pick them up, have them delivered, or come in and assemble them themselves.
People couldn't wrap their minds around paying $26 for Coq au Vin that served six people. Now I think they would welcome it!
One customer in a magazine article said I saved her life and her marriage. She said her husband expected a warm meal every day when he came home from work, and she just didn't feel it some days.
Even now, from time to time, I will cringe when somebody asks me that. Partly because in those three little words, it implies that I'm solely responsible for nourishment for our family. Partly because, as I'm sure lots of you are aware, having kids, that question often comes with complaints.
Part of the magic of cooking together is that everybody has input. It's a collaboration that everyone takes part in. Everyone embraces.
But today... As I think about that question myself... I'm doing something different. Billy came up with the idea a couple of days ago, and I will implement it.
Stay tuned... I might just record it!
