Please note: This is a conceptual recipe for flavor exploration only and should be approached with extreme caution. The amount of Everclear used should be minuscule due to its high proof. Do not attempt to replicate this with standard cocktail measurements of Everclear.
Conceptual Ingredients (for a single, highly diluted serving):
- 2 oz Casamigos Tequila (Blanco or Reposado, depending on your preference for a brighter or more aged flavor)
- ¼ oz (or less - literally a few drops) Everclear (for a very subtle, potent kick - use extreme caution)
- ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz Agave Nectar (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- 2-3 Dashes Chipotle Bitters (for smokiness and depth)
- Optional: Smoked salt for rimming the glass
Conceptual Instructions:
- Chill your glass: If desired, rim a chilled coupe or rocks glass with smoked salt.
- Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the Casamigos tequila, extremely small amount of Everclear, lime juice, agave nectar, and chipotle bitters.
- Add ice and shake: Fill the shaker with ice and shake very well until thoroughly chilled.
- Strain: Double strain the mixture into your prepared glass.
- Garnish: No garnish needed, or perhaps a thin lime wheel.
Tasting Notes (Conceptual):
This drink concept aims for a balance of the smooth, high-quality tequila with a smoky undertone from the chipotle bitters and a very subtle, almost imperceptible lift from the highly diluted Everclear. The lime and agave provide a classic sour-sweet balance.
