Someone just turned ordinary phone videos into a new business
Not a corporation. Not a VC-backed startup. One guy with a laptop.
He traveled a lot and kept running into the same situation:
The hotel looked perfect in photos. In reality - a tiny room with terrible lighting and a view of a wall.
"Why can't I just walk through the room before booking?"
Then he found an open-source project on GitHub
The technology turns ordinary phone video into a full 3D space right in the browser.
He threw the code into Claude, built a site in a couple of evenings, connected payments, made a presentation for hotels -and launched.
Now people can literally walk through hotels online before booking.
The numbers looked like a joke:
• Claude Pro: $20/month • Domain + server: $50
• Time to MVP: 11 days
• Normal hotel photoshoot costs $300-1500
• His 3D scan cost $25
After one month he had 17 hotels on a $99/month subscription.
Now freelancers are already charging $350-900 for 3D scanning of apartments, hotels, Airbnbs and car dealerships.
The whole business grew from free code on GitHub + Claude and one problem that annoyed millions of people for years.
