Bad times of the month to work
There statistically be time of the week, month, or year that will be harder to make money than it normally is.
When it comes to each month, generally 3-5 days before AND after the end of the month are slower. The main reason would be that most people are paying their bills around the first of the month and also, most customers coming to the club are regular people like you and me. They may need to replenish their bank account after they pay all their bills. Another very relevant reason that it may be harder to make money is that there usually more girls working around this time because we too, have to pay your bills!! There maybe some girls in panic mode and they are more aggressive around this time or even like to discount due to the looming threat of them not being able to pay bills. Obviously we have all been there but I would be mindful around this time of the month, and I would definitely recommend planning your vacations and time off around these times.
The seasons changing also can affect you differently depending on where you work. For example, Florida is a clearly seasonal state. You can assume most of our southern most states have a better winter season than summer. Summers can be scorching hot, humid, rainy, etc but the winters are usually beautiful! The way I determine "season" in these states would be to watch the weather up north. I usually check NYC and it seems that's once it's in the 50s during the day consistently, that's when it picks up down south. When it hits the 50s changes every year and if you take the summer off or travel during the summer, it would be smart to start paying attention to the weather mid October to see when it will pick up again. Any state that is southern that has a beach area or some type of water culture is one of the southern tourist states. Now of course there are northern states that are popular in the summer too! Places up north that also have water sports and culture do well. There's the Great lakes, parts of New York, Ozarks, and many more! I think the states that get UNBEARABLY cold also have good summer seasons, better than winter!
So what we can learn from the weather is that generally anywhere that is miserable in one season, will be great in the opposite season. Now there are plenty of middle states that have a more gentle climate that can be great all year round.
Rainy days can be good or bad, if it's too rainy, no one will come out, if it's lightly raining, not a lot of girls come to work and customers might still be out, so sometimes working a night with light rain can work in your favor.
Also alot of our "colder" states have a great holiday season. People are excited for the holidays and are still out and about partying and visiting family etc, so that brings a lot of people to the area. Some states don't have that holiday culture. It's usually a state with lots of family values and things like that, or a state where people move away from and come back to, to visit family. When a state has a huge holiday culture, sometimes it's normal to see a decline after the holidays because people want to recoup from their holiday spending.
Another things to consider is if you're club is open for the actual holiday. Xmas eve/day and thanksgiving day can me a gamble but I can guarantee that there won't be many girls working, so whoever does come in will be easy pickings! So if you don't celebrate, have nothing to do or like a gamble, I would try the actual holiday if you're club is open. A lot of times they will have no house fee and will even give you extra frees ones for working that night.
Some more "seasonal events" could be tax season and back to school season. Back to school is usually a bad time because parents have to stay home and make sure kids and ready for school so it generally slows down the grind for awhile. Most customers have kids and families and have to be there for them around then. It usually lasts a few weeks to a month because a lot of places stagger the start of school.
Pre and post tax season will be different. I honestly haven't noticed them spending less necessarily when taxes are due, but I do notice them spending more when people start getting their tax returns! It may vary by state but it's definitely something to look out for.
Your personal cycle can affect your work. I think there's two type of dancers... Ones that believe their period helps them at work and ones who believe it hinders them. Some people have no problem plugging up and keeping it moving and working no problem, and some people can't work at all during it. I would suggest trying to for yourself and seeing what works for you. You may even pms so bad that you don't like to work a few days before your period. Knowing and tracking your cycle is key. You need to write down when you get it and when it ends so you can plan your month around it.
College towns and military towns can be great. Military folks love strip clubs! be careful you might find yourself becoming a military wife lol! Also places where the military is being sent to or temporarily at will be good. -if anyone has any personal experiences with military areas.. please share your knowledge!-
Places with oil fields/rigs used to be good. I'm not sure how that is anymore. I'm not sure what's going on with oil in the US so that could be old information.. again if anyone has any info about it, please leave it in the comments!
Events and conferences are something to always look at! I have been gathering information about annual conferences, sports events, and different types of festivals and will be having a post with events and the cities they are in that year. Traveling to events can be very lucrative but there are many pros and cons and things to account for. Check out my Travel Dancing post that's pinned for tips on traveling.
Living in a town with lots of events is even better. If you're looking to relocate for career purposes that is something to look into because traveling with out a buddy or a group can be very expensive!
