Le Passé Composé avec Avoir
Salut! Today you're learning how to form the passé composé with avoir — the most common way to talk about the past in French!

J'ai mangé — I ate
Tu as parlé — You spoke
Il / Elle / On a fini — He / She / We finished
Nous avons travaillé — We worked
Vous avez regardé — You watched (formal / plural)
Ils / Elles ont joué — They played
The formula is simple: avoir (conjugated) + past participle. You already know all the avoir forms — now you just need to learn the past participle of each verb.
-er verbs → swap -er for -é (parler → parlé)
-ir verbs → swap -ir for -i (finir → fini)
-re verbs → swap -re for -u (vendre → vendu)
