Vision Starts With Surrender, Not Control
Many creatives try to plan before they seek.
And when I say seek, I mean seeking the face of God.
When we move ahead without God’s direction—
our projects, initiatives, and ideas may still succeed on the surface,
but they will feel empty, unfulfilled, or off.
That’s usually a sign that God was never invited into the process.
This is why surrender is not optional.
You can’t partially surrender your life and expect full clarity.
God wants access to:
• your love life
• your friendships
• your relationships
• your career
• your creativity
• your business
• your finances
If we try to control the outcome, it won’t work—because it has to be led by Him.
Sometimes creatives struggle to “pour out” not because they’re lazy or unmotivated,
but because God is calling them back into the secret place first.
Some seasons are not for producing.
They are for being built.
When you invite God into your vision process, clarity becomes possible—and sustainable.
This is why the Creative Life Skills Vision Board does not start with goals.
It starts with heart posture.
Because when God is allowed into the story,
He can establish dominion, order, and flow—
and your life begins to flourish instead of strain.
Proverbs 16:3 (ESV)
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
