The first time I raised my prices, I didn’t feel powerful.
I felt like my body was staging a revolt.
Nothing about that moment felt “abundant.”
My throat tightened and my stomach was flipping.
One thought kept looping, over and over.
“Don’t make anyone uncomfortable.”
This didn’t come from the present.
It was old conditioning.
The part of me trained to stay agreeable, capable, pleasant, safe.
In corporate, I could speak to executives without blinking.
I could defend million-dollar budgets.
But charging more for my own work?
That hit an entirely different part of my identity.
Here’s what I’ve learned since:
You don’t hesitate because you lack skill.
You hesitate because your body hasn't caught up to the version of you who feels worthy of expansion.
And once I held that price without shrinking… clients didn’t flinch.
They trusted me more.
People feel it when you finally trust your own value.
If you’re in that season where your soul wants to grow but your body still remembers old limits,
comment EXPAND and I’ll send something supportive.
