I discovered the world of 'vibe coding' because I joined 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹’𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 back in September and knew absolutely nothing about any of this before that. Zero. Nada. Blank slate 🧠✨

Since discovering Buildy and vibe coding, I went a little… academically feral and signed up for a few courses to deepen my understanding of the space.

𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀, here are my biggest takeaways 👇

1️⃣ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲

In a university-level course called “Vibe Coding Fundamentals”, we were required to work with several major Buildy competitors. Mandatory. No choice.

And wow 😬

So many things we take for granted in Buildy are either missing or painfully complex elsewhere. Hosting and databases being built in is a big one.

It took us an entire week of lessons in another tool just to reach the same result Buildy gives you out of the box, and honestly… worse 🤷‍♀️

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

2️⃣ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹.

I cannot stress this enough. Other platforms do not do this to the reliable level Buildy does, if at all ❌

In that same course, we spent hours learning how to dive into the code to hunt bugs and manually fix them. The course promised “no-code” and then immediately taught us code for the first five hours so we could “understand what we’re seeing”

✨ So when

says Buildy is not vibe coding, I now deeply understand why. ✨

To be fair, the course wasn’t useless. The lecturer was funny, and I did learn things. But the contrast made Buildy shine even harder ✨

🎓 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁

I am now the proud owner of a government-certified, university-level diploma stating that I am officially an 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 & 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 😂

This will never stop being funny to me.

That said, I know certifications still matter to some people and businesses, so hey, shiny paper achieved 📜✨ I also graduated with Honors.

Final exam duration: 1 hour

Time I took: 5 minutes

Time I spent triple-checking so I wouldn’t hand it in too fast and attract bad juju: 20 minutes 😅

🧠 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

I haven't shared this yet, but I have a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning 🏛️

So when I saw a course called “Vibecode Parametrics” focused on architectural design, I jumped in immediately.

It was exciting… and also brutal.

We spent 1.5 to 2 hours just setting up the environment. Downloading apps, installing plugins, configuring everything. I knew it would be advanced, but wow, that part was just boring 😴

At some point, I missed a crucial step and could not complete one of the projects. I went back later and still cannot find what I missed 🤦‍♀️

So I did what any calm, rational person would do 😌

I opened Buildy on my second monitor, used the same prompt the teacher was using, and 10 minutes later I had a working prototype while the instructor was still explaining how to locate and gently persuade a piece of code to behave.

I finished the project in Buildy, it looked just as good, required zero suffering, and made me feel like an absolute superhero 🦸‍♀️💥

Then I went to have a snack 🍎, play with my toddler 🧸, and take a walk 🚶‍♀️

I came back about an hour later.

They were still building the same app 😬

🎤 𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

I’m sharing all this to reassure you.

As Buildy builders, we are working with an extraordinary tool. It’s powerful, unassuming, friendly, and quietly does things the loud popular kids in the space still struggle to deliver.

Yes, those other systems are geared toward programmers. Totally fair 👍 But if we can achieve the same or better results without headaches, why bother?

The goal is not to get sucked into tech or become a code nerd unless you want to 😄 The goal is to have a tool that empowers you, excites you, and lets you build without mollycoddling it.
