Health is a tricky thing to manage when it comes to BJJ, and has really affected my life in many different ways I don't want affecting you
So that's why I put this together, so that way you're not a bum and fuck yourself up
So here's some things we need to make sure we're getting in check👇
- Preparation - getting ready for class
- Conditioning - make sure we're ready for the impact from class, and we do good
- Recovery - what we have to do after class
So starting with preparation, here's some things I do to prepare for class👇
- Carbs, if I need them - this can either be fruit, oats, or rice, basically a pre workout
- Cold, and hot shower - heat will help with loosening the muscles, cold will help with energy, and testosterone
- NSDR - non sleep deep is a type of meditation that helps with resetting the brain
That's what I do before class, keep in mind, I might not be able to do all of these things, but at least 1-2 is essential
Anyways, let's move on to how I stay conditioned for BJJ👇
- Cardio - usually just running in the morning, pretty fun imo
- Forearm exercises - help with grips
- Jump roping - helps with the calves
- Stretching - my favorite is dead arm hang
- Ligament therapy - basically rehab for your shoulders
- Regular hypertrophy - just my normal gym session
- Ab workout - good for core rotations
Again, I don't do everything all the time, can't push it too far sometimes
This is what I do for recovery👇
- Good sleep - this is pretty obvious, aim for at least 7.5 - 9 hours
- Raw honey - a lot of nutrients, and good for recovery + testosterone
- Time management - just overall making sure I don't go too far with my workouts, and manage them so I don't overtrain
- Raw cream - I don't do this actually, but my Dad says it helped him after boxing, so might as well try it out, careful of regular cream, or milk, because of the estrogen, unless you want gyno
Those are all the things I do for making sure my health is at it's best for BJJ, and I highly recommend this for everyone in here cuz this has helped me ALOT!!
Comment what you do for BJJ, diet, workouts, recovery etc. What do you do?👇
