Directory Site Update
I've shared that I've been building a local business directory. There are a couple reasons I'm doing this.
  1. To give myself a reason to get out into the community and network and have something to talk about other than directly pitching my services. My site is https://pulseontampabay.com and when someone asks, "What do you do?" I can say one of the things I do is run a free business directory for local businesses. That starts a discussion which builds trust which can lead to friendships and eventually new business.
2 I saw a presentation at the GHL Summit where the presenter showed he he used this to get tons of new business. After he welcomes them to the directory then asks them to claim their listing, an automation goes out that introduces them to his services. It's an easy "warm" way to directly pitch someone who is already warm to you.
I thought that made a lot of sense and decided to do it too. It's a long term play. It takes time to set it up, add data to the machine and keep it updated but long term I think it will pay huge dividends.
If you'd like to learn more about it and set one up for yourself I highly recommend using Tom Gaddis' system (he's the speaker I was talking about). If you jump in and get started I'm happy to help since I've already been at this for almost a week now.
