Introducing VAR to Big Bro Soccer 5-A-Side Matches
As we continue to establish ourselves as the "Sky Sports" of 5-a-side football, we are CONSIDERING the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology to our league.
This would make us the first ever 5-a-side league to implement VAR, reflecting our commitment to innovation and fair play.
VAR Trial Proposal:
We propose a trial phase where each team will have the opportunity to contest one penalty decision per game.
Here’s how it will work:
Contesting Decisions:
- Each team can contest ONE penalty decision per match.
Management:
- Review Process: When a decision is contested, the game will stop, and the referee will review the footage alone.
- Time spent on VAR reviews will be added to the game, ensuring no loss of playing time.
Objective:
The goal is to help referees make more informed decisions, thus preventing incorrect calls from influencing the outcome of matches.
