In today’s devotional journal 📝 we see how we can actually SHINE ✨ 😳
Our scripture for this week’s devotional journal continues to be:
Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
— Isaiah 60:1
—> Last week we saw SHINE is a command. 😳
Yet, we don’t need to SHINE on our own. ✨
>> The Light meant to heal the whole world 🌍 and truly fulfill our souls is His alone.✝️
☀️ So how may we SHINE, as followers of Jesus?
📝 We see in this week’s devotional that SHINE is a command in Hebrew meaning to cause to be luminous “metaphorically” & “literally.”
>> If we’re to SHINE “metaphorically,” it can mean many things we’ll discuss more next week.
✨ Yet, to SHINE l-i-t-e-r-a-l-l-y? How??
We explore how by taking a peek at someone who did. 👀
🏔️ We see how, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. —> Moses’ relationship with God was singular.
⬆️ When he took the trip up the mountain to receive The Ten Commandments, it was actually a journey all of Israel had been invited to. [Deuteronomy 5:5]
God had delivered them and was ready to meet them after His powerful, romantic and beautiful gesture of rescue and relief.
😕 Yet, they weren’t interested.
👍 Though this closeness that could cause their faces to SHINE was available to everyone, they’d have to climb a mountain 🏔️ and approach a fire 🔥 in order to get access to that fellowship.
🙅🏽 It was more than they wanted to do in order to get the blessing God was holding out for them. 😑
🤍 In this ministry, God said we would lead women who had suffered grief from trauma and loss up the mountain 🏔️ of the Lord where they would find peace and joy.🩷
I want that so much!!
>> Yet, for it to happen, we have to actually lead them…and they have to actually follow for this promise to come to pass.
📖 Biblical Self-Care is so much about how it takes obedient action for the life God has promised for us to become our present reality.🤍
🏔️ And, we don’t have to climb a physical mountain nor approach a literal burning fire 🔥 like Moses. Yet, we have the same invitation. ✉️
📕 Bibles in our hands and on our phones 📱 and worship 🙌 accessible in so many online spaces, we simply need to open our hearts to “approach” Him…commune with Him…talk with Him 🤍
>> We have an access to His Word and to worship mankind has not known before. 😲
I pray we allow ourselves to make use of this incredible access — no literal fire — no literal mountain — yet, we still may LITERALLY shine ✨
>> May we seek Him while He may be found, so we may SHINE ✨ His Light, as Biblical Self-Care. 🫶
