It’s easier to find someone out in a lie than it is to hear them in the truth.
But even then, you can never really know for sure — not what somebody’s thinking, not what they’re doing, not even when they’re lying or just living their day.
It’s the same on both sides.
The difference is what you choose to believe.
Do you want to believe people are lying to you, or do you want to believe they’re telling you the truth?
You want to believe they’re being honest, because that makes everything easier.
But deep down, you fear being naive — being taken advantage of.
And if you can’t decide, you end up stuck in limbo — waiting, second-guessing — until you finally figure out what kind of person you want to be again.
