When you race the same track all the time you know how you are going to ride it. When you start to ride new tracks you learn very quick that not all tracks are built the same. You will either love it or hate it.
As new and amateur riders we don’t show up to tracks days early to practice and learn the track. We show up on race day and get a few laps in during a really crowded practice time. We get a feel for the gate and how the track rides. Then we wait until it’s our turn to race.
While I have never been to Grands or any indoor national race one thing I know that I like about these tracks is that everyone gets the same amount of time on the track. Nobody has a home track advantage.
So, how do we prepare for a race on a track that we are not familiar with or have never ridden before?
What decisions do you need to make before you even step foot on the track?
How would you race this years Grands track just based of a picture?
We will discuss this Sunday night at 6pm in the live group training. See you there!
