To keep this community helpful, friendly, and beginner-friendly, please follow these rules.
1. Be kind and respectful
Everyone is at a different stage. Some people have years of experience. Some people are just getting started. Some people are still deciding if beekeeping is right for them.
No rude comments, mocking, shaming, or making people feel bad for asking beginner questions.
2. Beginner questions are welcome
There are no “dumb” questions here.
If someone asks about feeding, inspections, queen cells, mites, brood, swarms, or equipment, help them in a simple and respectful way.
We all had to start somewhere.
3. Share advice responsibly
Beekeeping can be very local. What works in one area may not work in another.
When giving advice, try to include your location or climate if it matters. For example, advice for Chilliwack, BC may not be the same as advice for Arizona, Ontario, or the UK.
Use phrases like:
“In my area…”“What I have seen is…”“You may want to check with a local beekeeper…”“This depends on your weather and season…”
4. No fighting over beekeeping methods
Beekeepers do things differently.
Flow Hives, Langstroth hives, treatment methods, feeding choices, queen management, swarm control, and inspection styles can all lead to different opinions.
Healthy discussion is welcome. Arguing, attacking, or acting like there is only one correct answer is not.
5. Keep posts related to the group

Please avoid unrelated promotions, spam, politics, or random content that does not fit the group.
6. No spam or constant selling
You can share helpful products, tools, books, or resources when they are relevant, but please do not join just to sell.
If you have a business, course, product, or service, contribute value first.
7. Photos and videos are encouraged
Hive photos, frame photos, garden photos, setup pictures, bee videos, and inspection clips are all welcome.
If you post a frame or hive photo and want help, try to include:

8. Be safe with bees
Always respect your bees, your neighbours, and your local rules.
Wear the protective gear you are comfortable with, inspect calmly, and do not take unnecessary risks.
9. Local advice matters
If you are in Chilliwack, the Fraser Valley, or BC, local weather and timing will come up often in this group.
If you are from somewhere else, you are still very welcome. Just remember to mention your area when asking seasonal questions.
10. Help build the community
Like posts. Comment when you can. Welcome new members. Share your wins and your mistakes.
The more people participate, the more useful this group becomes for everyone.
