N8N 2.0 is coming — major update announced
The n8n team just confirmed that version 2.0 is on the way — the biggest update since 1.0 launched in 2023.
Release dates
- 2.0.0 Beta: December 8
- 2.0.x Stable: December 15
What’s new
- Autosave (finally)
- A refreshed canvas and sidebar
- Better performance, more security
- Additional new features coming soon
Breaking changes
v2 introduces several security, performance, and config updates. Make sure to check:

- Migration Report inside n8n (Settings → Migration Report, available from v1.121.0)
Good to know
- Community version gets all v2 updates
- v1.x will receive bug and security fixes for 3 months after v2, but no new features
