Anthropic taps Samsung for its first custom AI chip
Anthropic is talking to Samsung about building its first custom AI chip. Until now Anthropic has relied on Nvidia and Google TPUs, so this would be its first serious in-house silicon play, and it pushes Samsung deeper into a race most people thought belonged to TSMC.
If you build anything on top of Claude, this matters long term. Hardware choices today shape pricing and capacity for a year from now, and Anthropic is clearly trying to control its own supply chain.
