Hey Everyone!
Just came across this Medway Council is looking to bring new licensing scheme for HMOs across seven areas including Chatham, Gillingham, Luton and Strood.
They’re saying it’s in response to more issues around mould, fire safety, and poor housing conditions. Basically, every new rental in those areas might soon need a license and meet extra standards.
If you’ve got properties or deals around Medway, this is definitely something to keep an eye on.
What do you all think fair move to raise standards, or just more hoops for landlords to jump through?
