In our last issue, we cracked the algorithm. Today, we get tactical: how do you design a video that actually gets watched to the end?
- Top Insight #1 — Hook Hard, Hook Early
You have 3 seconds. Use a messaging hook (“You won’t believe what happened…”) or a visual hook (something wild or unexpected).
Pro tip: Drop a second hook mid-video to keep viewers locked in.
- Top Insight #2 — Cut Ruthlessly
Dead space kills momentum. Every “um” and pause is a chance for your viewer to scroll. Edit like a savage. Make every second earn its place.
- Tactic of the Week — Pay It Off at the End
Set a promise, build tension, and deliver in the final moments. That’s how you win on completion rate—the algorithm’s favorite stat.
- Relatability + Sharability = Multipliers
When people feel seen, they stay. When they think, “This is so [my friend],” they hit send. Identity, usefulness, or emotion—make your video share bait.
- Word of the Week — Repeatability
Don’t reinvent the wheel every time. Great formats scale. “If [Brand] Ads Were Honest” became a whole series. Find your repeatable formula.
Before you post, run your video through this:
Hook. Pacing. Payoff. Relatability. Sharability. Repeatability.
Score it. Improve it. Then publish.
