healing your nervous system & creative self 🌱
i just watched this conversation on the Know Thyself Podcast with dr. sue morter about healing a nervous system stuck in survival mode, and it felt like a gentle wake-up call. the main idea: so many of us are living in a constant state of survival: overthinking, overdoing, always on edge. dr. morter explains that our nervous system gets “stuck” in these patterns, often because of old wounds, stress, or just the pace of modern life. but healing is possible, and it starts with learning to regulate our system, come back to our bodies, and allow ourselves to feel safe again. some things that stood out: - you don’t have to suffer to awaken, but suffering can be a doorway to deeper self-awareness - healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself, but remembering your wholeness - the body, mind, and breath are designed to work together to help us heal and flourish - when we slow down and get present, we can transform old patterns and access new creative energy this made me think about this community, art & alchemy. as artists and seekers, our creativity is deeply connected to our nervous system. when we’re stuck in survival mode, it’s hard to create, to feel inspired, or to express ourselves fully. but when we learn to regulate, to breathe, to be present with our feelings (even the hard ones), we open up space for new ideas, healing, and transformation. in this community, we honor the connection between body, mind, and creativity. we use art as a way to process, to heal, and to come home to ourselves. question for you: how does your nervous system affect your creativity? what practices help you feel safe enough to create, express, or just be present with yourself? share your thoughts, art, or reflections below 👇
