So...How exactly do I use the new Spatial Index feature?
Qlik recently released a new feature in Qlik Cloud called Spatial Index. A spatial index is like a lookup table that makes it much easier for Qlik to know where points are on a map. In practice, this means that we can take advantage of another new feature: We can now select points in a map just by zooming in!
Up until now, if you wanted to select points in a map, you needed to zoom in, select the points individually or by using the lasso tool, and then confirm your selection. Now, we can create a spatial index, apply it to a table, and then simply zoom in on points on our map to automatically select them.
This has some great use cases, including being able to explore data in maps much more quickly.
