How to promote without promoting
One of my goals this year is to grow this group, stay accountable, do the right work, help each other, have fun, etc.
I also want you to make connections, find partnerships, etc.
What I don't want is for this group to become a place where you come, share a link to your latest post, and turn it into one of those groups that seem to have a lot of content but no real engagement.
Because that's what happens with most promotion-happy groups from what I've seen from my Facebook blogging group days.
So... Instead of creating a new post and leaving a link to your stuff randomly, here's a better idea... Or a few.
  • Write a Skool bio that tells people what you do
  • Share a link in your bio
  • Write an introduction post here (I don't see anyone doing that even though my Start Here post asks you to) and share your website and/or newsletter links there
  • Have genuine conversations (this is huge)
  • Create posts when you want to ask me and the group a question
  • Create posts when you have a cool idea
  • Show up generously and often
  • Genuinely care about the quality of this group as though it were your own
  • And be cool 😎
Over the last year or so, I've made some genuine (and often lucrative) connections from various Skool groups by doing the above 👆
Did I miss anything? If you have ideas of your own, tell me 👇
